While school’s out for the summer, Columbia Records’ Home Free is offering a pure taste of nostalgia with their latest cover video for Rascal Flatts’ No. 1 smash “I Like the Sound of That,” premiering exclusively on Tennessean.com today (7/7).

Produced and directed by Jacob Colgan, the all-vocal quintet returns to the cherished halls of middle school to follow a heartwarming love story between two clumsy teachers, while adding comedic relief as the hilarious Home Free-run faculty on yearbook picture day. From an embarrassing chance encounter on a stairwell, to a spilled coffee snafu in the teacher’s lounge, watch as the endearing duo find playful romance outside of their mutual love of books, all while the foot-tapping tune plays on.

“When I heard ‘I Like the Sound of That’ for the first time on the radio, it made me want to call my girlfriend and cancel all my plans,” shares (high tenor) Austin Brown. “It’s just one of those feel-good love songs. I knew we had to put our Home Free-stamp on it.”

Rob Lundquist (tenor) adds, “We tried making complete fools of ourselves in the video and it came pretty natural to us."

Dripping with sweet harmonies, Home Free’s infectious rendition of “I Like the Sound of That” – produced by Home Free and Darren Rust (also arranged by) – is available soon at digital retailers.

Supported by international acclaim, Home Free continues to take their ovation-worthy talents on the road, wowing audiences throughout the U.S. with select summer tour dates. With more than 163 million YouTube views and counting, they’re also currently working on a new album with details expected soon.

About Home Free

Since being crowned NBC’s The Sing-Off victors, Home Free has made their mark on the music scene selling more than 200,000 copies combined of their popular albums, embarking on four major national tours and amassing over 163 million YouTube views. The release of their third studio album, COUNTRY EVOLUTION, has elevated the band “from auxiliary entertainment to headlining attraction” (Times Leader) and hit No. 4 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. Produced by Darren Rust, the deluxe version includes five originals and nine new renditions of hit songs that showcase the band’s extraordinary talents, tight harmonies and intelligent arrangements that are uniquely their own. Home Free’s breakout debut album CRAZY LIFE (2014) hit No. 1 on iTunes Country chart and No. 4 overall. In 2016, the release of FULL OF (EVEN MORE) CHEER, an expanded version of their popular holiday album, FULL OF CHEER, debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Country Album’s chart. Founded in 2000 during collegiate years, the five-man band from Minnesota has been perfecting their live show for nearly a decade performing together for packed crowds at major fairs, colleges and theatres. Their experiences on the road helped carry them to The Sing-Off victory, build a loyal fan base and bring their homegrown country style into the national spotlight.
