BREAKOUT HITMAKER GEORGE BIRGE DROPS SEVEN-TRACK COWBOY SONGS EP

With a growing legion of fans who can’t get enough, RECORDS Nashville artist-songwriter George Birge takes the next step of his red-hot Country career today (4/5), dropping the Cowboy Songs EP.

Co-writing five of seven songs including the stormy new single and current chart climber “Cowboy Songs,” the set finds Birge expanding what is fast becoming his signature sound – an infectious mix of simmering Country rockers, edgy atmosphere and all out-emotionality – while continuing to up the ante with unbridled romantic intensity.

Along with the slow-burning desire of “Cowboy Songs,” the EP touches on themes from across the spectrum of love and loss – from dive bar devils-in-disguise to wistful, warm-hearted nostalgia, hard-earned maturity and heartbreaks that won’t heal – as Birge showcases both his distinct Texas vocal and knack for lyrical longing.

All throughout the set, the exciting newcomer teams with writers like Jon NitePaul DiGiovanniRodney Clawson and more, unveiling his first batch of new material since his breakout #1 debut, “Mind On You.”

"This is about as proud as I've ever been for a project," Birge explains. "I feel like it grows me up a little bit and it has been my chance to put my flag in the ground to tell my story. I think I'm most excited for listeners to feel like they know me a little better after they listen to this. I can't wait to see what everybody thinks of it and how they put it into their own lives."

George Birge’s Cowboy Songs EP Track List:

  1. “Cowboy Songs”

  2. “Made You, Made Me”

  3. “Damn Right I Do”

  4. “It Ain’t Austin”

  5. “OK Breakin' Up”

  6. “Hard on the Bottle”

  7. “Miss Missin’ You”

Available everywhere now, Birge’s Cowboy Songs EP serves as the follow up to his breakout debut “Mind On You” – the seductive anthem which hit #1 at Country radio as 2024 began, and also landed on Billboard's all-genre Hot 100 list. The track was included on Birge’s George Birge: Mind On You album, which helped propel the newcomer to over 67.3 MILLION career streams and features in PEOPLEBillboardAmerican Songwriter and beyond.

Following the chart-topping success, the hitmaker was even highlighted in the coveted New Faces of Country Music showcase at the 2024 Country Radio Seminar, sharing a vote-of-confidence honor previously bestowed on now-superstars like Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan and others.

That industry support continues as Birge’s “Cowboy Songs” marks his fastest-rising single to date, after becoming one of the most-added songs at Country radio upon release last month. Birge also shared the reflective “It Ain’t Austin” before the EP’s announcement, driving even more anticipation. Keeping it Austin, Birge brought CMT Hot 20 for an inside look at his hometown music haunts – Mean Eyed Cat, Stubbs BBQ and Saxon Pub – ahead of the CMT Music Awards broadcast live from this city. Tune in CMT Hot 20 this Saturday (4/6) and Sunday (4/7) at 9a/8c to watch.

Meanwhile, Birge is making waves on the road as well. The newly minted chart-topper is currently supporting Parker McCollum’s BURN IT DOWN TOUR 2024, with select shows all across the U.S. ending June 1 in Jacksonville, Florida. He’ll then join Sam Hunt on his LOCKED UP TOUR 2024 starting June 28 and finish out the summer on Luke Bryan’s MIND OF A COUNTRY BOY TOUR. See here for full list of tour stops.
