TEGAN MARIE TAKES A BOW IN THEATRICAL STAGE DEBUT

Warner Music Nashville and Sweety High Country artist TEGAN MARIE took a well-deserved bow last night (12/13), making her theatrical stage debut in Lythgoe Family Panto's PETER PAN AND TINKERBELL – A PIRATE’S CHRISTMAS.

Taking on the beloved role of Wendy in a cast which also includes Seinfeld’s John O’Hurley and Disney Channel’s Garrett Clayton, the Country head turner’s magnetic energy thrilled audience members at the Polk Theater in Nashville’s Tennessee Performing Arts Center, where the show will continue through December 23.

Directed by BT McNichol and choreographed by Spencer Liff, PETER PAN AND TINKER BELL – A PIRATE’S CHRISTMAS is a singing, swashbuckling adventure performed in the high-flying style of a British holiday panto. Filled with big laughs, magic, dancers and contemporary songs by everyone from Taylor Swift to the Bee Gees, the family-friendly show finds Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinker Bell taking off a wild quest to stop the plot of some dastardly pirates, who plan to kidnap Peter as a present to Captain Hook.

Having just performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Girl Scouts of the USA’s Building a Better World float, more big things are on the horizon for the 15-year-old Michigan native.

Tegan Marie is one of four artists selected for the new OPRY NEXTSTAGE program, an Opry Entertainment initiative highlighting and shining the spotlight on Country’s rising stars. As part of the program, Tegan Marie delivered her 13th Opry performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on December 8, and will continue making Opry appearances throughout 2019 and beyond. The Opry NextStage program will also feature Tegan Marie in a documentary style video series, plus a kickoff party and performance by the entire NextStage class of 2019 – Tegan Marie, Riley Green, Tenille Townes and Travis Denning – scheduled for January 8 at Ole Red Nashville.

Following the release of two effervescent tracks – “Keep It Lit” and “I Know How to Make a Boy Cry” – Tegan Marie is currently working on new music with hitmakers Scott Hendricks (Blake Shelton) and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift).
