Along with a rootsy rendition of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” and a piano-led, harmony-rich take on “O Holy Night,” the EP finds Brust and Lucas delighting in the hometown traditions and cherished connections that make Christmas so meaningful. Buzzing with feel-good energy from the jump, My Kinda Christmas opens on its title track: an all-out celebration of the merriest season and its countless simple pleasures. Written by Lucas, Brust, and Andy Albert, the bright and breezy anthem centers on LOCASH’s true-to-life storytelling, sprinkling its snapshots of classic holiday scenes with plenty of playful pop-culture nods (e.g., Home Alone, Die Hard, Michael Bublé’s Christmas songbook).
