Country newcomer Stella Lefty has earned her first No. 1 at Country radio with “Boston” — a crossover smash that hit the top spot on both the Country Aircheck/Mediabase Airplay chart and Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Reaching the peak of the Country Airplay chart just 22 weeks after impacting radio, “Boston” is the fastest chart debut by a solo female artist to ascend to No. 1 in more than 20 years since Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman” in 2004 on Billboard and Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel” in 2006 on Mediabase. The blockbuster track also marks the third fastest debut single by a solo female Country artist to land at No. 1 in the Mediabase era, and is the fifth fastest by any solo debut Country artist to hit No. 1 in the Mediabase era.

With its rapid climb to the top, “Boston” joins a particularly rare class of Country radio hits. One of just 11 chart debuts by a solo-billed female artist ever to claim No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay tally, it’s also the sixth-fastest among that elite group — with all five songs ahead of “Boston” reaching No. 1 between 1991 and 2004. The milestone also marks the first Country radio No. 1 released by Atlantic Outpost.
One of the biggest breakout hits of 2026, “Boston” has amassed more than 486 million streams worldwide and shot to No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. The song also scored 2026 MTV Video Music Award nominations in the Best Country and Song of Summer categories, with Lefty additionally nominated for Best New Artist.
Hailed as a “bright, summery mood-lifter in its own right” (NPR) and a “toe-tapping, romantic country pop smash” (Billboard), “Boston” appears on Lefty’s debut album Long Way Home, released via Atlantic Outpost on August 21. Also featuring “Something To Lose” with Vincent Mason (a bittersweet duet that recently cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100), Long Way Home debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Top Albums Global and USA Charts.
Earlier this month, Lefty made her Grand Ole Opry debut, adding another triumph to a whirlwind year that’s included her debut television performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a hometown debut at Lollapalooza, and appearances at CMA Fest, BST Hyde Park, OSHEAGA, and more.
