COUNTRY THUNDER ARIZONA RETURNS AT FULL THROTTLE

Country Thunder — the largest Country music festival brand in North America — made a triumphant return to Arizona over the weekend with its 2026 edition, delivering four electrifying days of music and nonstop action. From April 9–12, Country Thunder Arizona transformed Florence’s AZ Talio Ranch into a full-throttle celebration of Country music and culture. Drawing tens of thousands of fans per day, the festival once again proved its standing as the Southwest’s premier Country music experience.

Across four distinct sets, Country Thunder Arizona’s superstar headliners brought major firepower to the festival’s Main Stage. On opening night, Gavin Adcock tore through a high-octane performance that sent the crowd into overdrive, then spent nearly an hour meeting and signing autographs for fans in an impromptu post-show gathering near the stage. Reaffirming her status as a can’t-miss headliner, Lainey Wilson capped off Friday’s lineup and continued her tradition of naming a young audience member the “Cowgirl of the Night” — this time with a little girl named Amelia (go here to watch a clip). Saturday’s headliner Zach Top brought classic Country charm to a singalong-heavy set, while the legendary Brooks & Dunn closed out Country Thunder Arizona’s final night by doubling down on their legacy as an unstoppable live force.

A tightly curated lineup of Country’s standout talent, Country Thunder Arizona’s Main Stage also boasted performances from Waylon WyattIan MunsickLonestarScotty McCreeryDashaJay WebbJackson DeanGeorge BirgeLogan LaymanBilly Dean & Collin RayeAustin SnellLauren WatkinsLanie GardnerThe Wilder Blue, and Annie Bosko. In addition, rising local artists lit up the Copperhead Stage, while the Songwriter Showcase featured rounds with emerging and established songwriters like Johnny ClawsonBenjy DavisBrinley AddingtonJimi BellChase McDaniel, and Trent Wayne.

In an exciting first for Country Thunder Arizona, this year’s festival marked the launch of Buckin’ Thunder Pro Bull Riding — a crowd-thrilling addition to the massive desert gathering. Produced in collaboration with RS Rodeo (an official partner of the National Senior Pro Rodeo Association), the sanctioned National Senior Pro Bull Riding event brought together veteran riders vying for buckles and points toward their standings. With all competitors over the age of 40 (and several continuing to ride well into their sixties), the event offered a close-range view of bull riding by lifelong cowboys with a deep-rooted connection to the sport.

Along with presenting lessons, Electric Thunder also hosted a dance contest whose winner took to the Main Stage for a crowd-commanding victory lap in front of the entire festival audience.

A full-scale fan experience, Country Thunder Arizona leveled up its culinary game for 2026, with food vendors including festival favorites like Flacos TacosFry FactoryStizzy’s Sweet Tea, and Piggly’s BBQ and beloved national chains like Chick-fil-A. ABOUT TROY VOLLHOFFER:
Between running the world’s preeminent Country music festival brand, hosting a popular podcast, and giving back at every turn as a philanthropist, Country Thunder President and C.E.O. Troy Vollhoffer has quietly distinguished himself as a music industry renaissance man. Raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, he went from working in his father’s local theater to spending more than a decade playing minor and junior professional hockey before using a Pittsburgh Penguins signing bonus to launch Premier Global Production, which supported major tours for Rod Stewart, Def Leppard, Metallica and more. In 2005, he took ownership of the longest-running music festival event in North America, leading it as the Craven Country Jamboree for twelve years before bringing it into the Country Thunder family in 2017. During that time, he expanded the brand by acquiring Country Thunder Arizona and Wisconsin in 2009 and launching Country Thunder Alberta in 2016 and Country Thunder Florida in 2019. His leadership has earned multiple ACM “Festival of the Year” honors, prestigious awards from the ACM and CCMA, and recognition on Billboard’s “Touring Power Players” list. A dedicated philanthropist and host of “On the Bus with Troy Vollhoffer,” he continues to shape the future of live music with the same passion that launched his career.
