On Sunday night (3/8), breakout Country sensation Ashley Cooke will make a cameo appearance on the new CBS series, Marshals — the newly launched spinoff to the blockbuster Western saga Yellowstone. Tune in at 8:00p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network or stream the series on Paramount+.
The Florida-born singer/songwriter behind hits like “your place” (a GOLD-certified release that reached No. 1 on Country radio), Cooke will perform her solo-penned ballad “next to you” on this Sunday’s episode of Marshals. Set in a bar scene, her cameo begins with a close-up shot of Cooke singing the soul-stirring track on the bar stage and continues as the scene unfolds. A standout example of her true-to-life songwriting, “next to you” appears on her critically lauded 2023 debut album shot in the dark (also featuring her GOLD-certified hit “never til now”).
Produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, Marshals stars Luke Grimes, who reprises his Yellowstone role as Kayce Dutton. With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana. Kayce and his teammates – Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means) – must balance the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families, which for Kayce includes his son Tate (Brecken Merrill) and his confidantes Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) from the Broken Rock reservation.
Today, Cooke is treating fans to the surprise release of “ace sessions” — a series of all-acoustic versions of songs from ace, a 2025 project built on her most personal output to date. Available now on YouTube, “ace sessions” includes stripped-back and stunningly intimate renditions of six tracks from the project, including her fiery anthem “the hell you are” (a recent hit at Country radio) and the longtime fan favorite “baby blues.” Go here to watch “ace sessions.”
