Today, Country singer/songwriter FILMORE shares his first song of 2026, a stormy but soulful track called “Love at First Fight.” An unfiltered look at a romance fueled by friction, “Love at First Fight” will appear on FILMORE’s upcoming 21-song LP Atypical — his first album release via MULTI-PLATINUM global icon Pitbull’s Mr. 305 Records, due out on February 20. The follow-up to “Yeehaw” (FILMORE’s first official studio collaboration with Pitbull), “Love at First Fight” arrives just weeks after the two boundary-pushing musicians made their live-broadcast performance debut together as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026. Go here to watch FILMORE and Pitbull tear through a crowd-igniting rendition of “Yeehaw” at the iconic Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas.
In a departure from the party-ready energy of “Yeehaw,” “Love at First Fight” spotlights the more emotionally charged side of FILMORE’s singular artistry. Co-written by FILMORE, Lindsay Rimes, and Josh Hoge, the high-passion track presents a lived-in portrait of a doomed relationship where fighting is a love language. With its moody beats and stark guitar tones, “Love at First Fight” opens as FILMORE hints at the dark underbelly of their flawless façade (“We’re perfect on paper / Wave at the neighbors / We got real good at making real look good”). Although he soon reveals the truth of their toxic bond, the low-slung but hard-hitting chorus channels a hope that won’t quit: “Now I can’t see me without you / Even when we argue / And I saw it when you walked out that door / So let’s just call it love at first fight…’Cause you know this love’s worth fighting for.”
"When we wrote this song it came really easily thinking of past experiences, and I think everyone at one point in their life goes through a 'love at first fight' type relationship," shares FILMORE.
Co-produced by John-Luke Carter (a producer/songwriter who’s also worked with NEEDTOBREATHE and Hunter Hayes) and FILMORE (who took the reins as co-producer on 16 of Atypical’s tracks), “Love at First Fight” centers on a hypnotic vocal performance from the Missouri-bred artist, who taps into the lower register of his irresistibly raspy voice. After starting out as a stripped-back slow-burner, the song steadily builds in intensity and unleashes a blistering guitar solo at the bridge — perfectly mirroring the escalating tension of a fiery clash between partners.
With its tracklist spanning from Outlaw Country to Hard Rock to Hip-Hop, Atypical also includes “Yeehaw” along with the previously released “365,” “If I Was You,” “South On Me,” “Betcha Gonna,” “Hola,” and “Love Lovin You.” Co-written entirely by FILMORE, the album marks his first full-length project since dropping his 2023 LP Mean Something and stepping back from the spotlight to refocus his craft and start a family. As the latest turn in a trailblazing career that’s included becoming the first independent artist featured on Spotify’s Hot Country cover, opening for the likes of Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood, and (most recently) supporting Pitbull on the European leg of his PARTY AFTER DARK TOUR in summer 2025, Atypical signals the start of a bold new era for the burgeoning Country star.
