Monday night (January 12), meteoric talent Ty Myers will make his late-night TV debut with a highly awaited appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — tune in at 11:35 ET / 10:35 CT to watch.
Less than a year after rising to fame with his critically acclaimed debut album The Select (RECORDS Nashville/Columbia), the 18-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist will hit the Tonight Show stage and perform one of the LP’s biggest standouts, the GOLD-certified smash “Thought It Was Love.” Along with climbing to No. 79 on the Billboard Hot 100, the gorgeously composed but brutally honest track earned praise from the likes of MusicRow, who noted that “Thought It Was Love” “showcases Myers’ lyrical depth, capturing the darkness of love lost with the finesse of a seasoned songwriter.”
Currently storming the country on his nearly SOLD-OUT The Select Tour, Myers will give The Tonight Show viewers an intimate glimpse at his can’t-miss live performance — a high-powered but poignant experience that’s made him one of the most exciting new artists on the scene. After launching last January, the Texas-bred musician’s debut headline run greatly expanded to meet audience demand (including a multitude of room upgrades and second nights added), eventually clocking in at 73 dates total. Hailed by Rolling Stone as “the next face of country music,” Myers has reached countless milestones in the past year, including earning PLATINUM certification for his Country radio hit “Ends of the Earth.” After wrapping up The Select Tour next month, he’ll make his Stagecoach debut in April and then support Luke Combs’ massive MY KINDA SATURDAY NIGHT TOUR (including stops at stadiums across North America and Europe). During his time off the road, he’s also holed up at the historic FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL, and set to work on the follow-up to The Select (a 16-song powerhouse featuring 12 tracks written entirely on his own). To date, Myers has shared four songs from his wildly anticipated sophomore LP: “Leaving Carolina,” “Through a Screen,” “Come On Over, Baby,” and “Two Trains (feat. Marcus King).”
