Highly sought-after duo LOCASH, comprised of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, took over BMI’s rooftop last night in Nashville, TN, for a No. 1 Party to celebrate their MULTI-WEEK No. 1 smash “Hometown Home.” Buzzing with excitement, the event kicked off with local high school Father Ryan’s drumline calling the packed crowd to attention. Hosted by BMI and ASCAP and emceed by BMI’s MaryAnn Keen, the PLATINUM-selling Country stars were joined by family, friends, and industry tastemakers as their label Galaxy Label Group presented them with a plaque to commemorate the single’s chart success.
“This No. 1 right here is for all the new folks moving into town right now,” Brust explains at the party. “They’re moving into an apartment and they’re like ‘Man, this is a big town; how am I going to cut through? How am I going to find my way?’ You can do it. Your No. 1 is waiting for you. And this is also for the folks who have been here 25 years…You can still get No. 1s. You can still pull this all together.”
Lucas recalls the writing experience for the celebrated single, “I remember writing on Zoom, and then I remember recording it with you guys…and half of the session was laughing. Just laughing and bringing joy and just happiness; it was so amazing to write with these guys.”
During the celebration, sponsored by Studio Bank, Kari Barnhart made a special donation presentation on behalf of LOCASH and the songwriters in support of the I Love This Life Fund, which supports nonprofit causes across the country that are cultivating and curating life-impacting initiatives.
Following the heartfelt remarks, LOCASH (BMI) gave a very special performance of “Hometown Home” alongside co-writers Zach Abend (BMI) and Andy Albert (ASCAP), and producer Jacob Rice. Then, Brust and Lucas’ children joined in for a full family sing-along that closed with their PLATINUM breakout “I Love This Life.”
LOCASH posed for photos, hung out all night, and further solidified their position as one of the leading duos in the genre.
Earlier this year, “Hometown Home” completed an impressive climb to No.1 at Country radio, extending the duo’s incredible track record and notching yet another career No. 1. Billboard chronicled this moment and spoke to their sustained success. Additionally, the single registered the first No. 1 from the debut release on Galaxy Label Group. In a short time, it’s become an anthem for fans, and it’s now a staple of their live show too.
In other big news, LOCASH just joined forces with Savannah Bananas to present the “Wrong Hearts” Dance Contest, which is live now. They’ve invited fans to post their own “Wrong Hearts” dance videos on TikTok with the hashtag #LOCASHGOESBANANAS.
