The clip opens on a post-breakup Moroney as she channel-surfs with an old school clicker, curlers in her hair, and a bowl of popcorn. She catches a commercial for the “Karma Now! Hotline,” which promises “GUARANTEED RESULTS IN 6 MONTHS” and is sponsored by “Emo Cowgirl.” She grabs the receiver on a bejeweled rotary phone and orders her revenge on-demand. One unforgettable vignette after another follows as her toxic ex gets his due with a surprise “Ice Cold” shower, “Expired” milk in the fridge, “Bad Meat” on a date, and “Trash” on his morning run. She relishes each moment, dancing on the bed during the finale.
If your summer has been ruined by a cheating, lying, and undeserving dude, it may be time for you to call the “Karma Now! Hotline” too…
Fans gathered at The Emo Cowgirl – a first-of-its-kind pop-up bar at The Westin Nashville’s L27 Rooftop Lounge – yesterday (7/15) for an early screening of the video, complete with popcorn and special signed takeaways. Check out the event highlights here. Meanwhile, “6 Months Later” just impacted Country radio this week. It joins her headline-making radio single “You Had To Be There” (a collaboration with Country legend Kenny Chesney who enlisted Moroney as support for his stadium-filling SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR)—which continues to rise.
Upon its release in June, “6 Months Later” made major waves. It vaulted to #1 on the Spotify All-Genre Top Song Debut chart in its first three-day frame and achieved her highest chart position ever across streaming platforms. On Apple Music, it catapulted to #15 All-Genre. Plus, it impressively tallied her best debut on the Billboard Hot 100, surging in the Top 30.
Speaking to Moroney’s growing influence, she currently averages 40 MILLION weekly global streams on her catalog, boosting her total combined streams to over 3 BILLION. Not to mention, her 2024 fan-favorite “No Caller ID” has officially received a PLATINUM certification from the RIAA.
Right out of the gate, “6 Months Later” (written by Moroney, Ben Williams, David “Messy” Mescon, and Rob Hatch, and produced by longtime collaborator Kristian Bush) earned critical acclaim. Billboard added the song to its “Friday New Music Guide,” going on to profess, “the real attraction here is Moroney’s voice, full of weariness when recalling a breakup and packing smoky, sarcastic personality in each syllable, on a song that the rising country star soundly commands.” GRAMMY.com touted it on “New Music Friday,” dubbing it an “irresistible post-breakup anthem.” Rolling Stone plugged it on the “Songs You Need To Know” playlist. In an Instagram story, Entertainment Weekly raved, “Sorry, can’t come to the phone right now, we’re listening to #MeganMoroney’s newest single,” and CMT featured it on “The Roundup.” Whiskey Riff spotlighted it as “an extremely catchy melody and all-too-relatable lyrics that finds her detailing how a relationship went sideways… though the guy keeps popping back up every now and then when she’s just about over it… classic.”
Since last July’s release of Am I Okay? (the year’s third-biggest Billboard 200 debut from a female Country artist), Moroney has ascended to a rare level of stardom that includes gracing the cover of Rolling Stone (who hailed her as “The Gen Z Country Queen We Need”), landing profiles in the print editions of elite publications like The New Yorker, and receiving the Rulebreaker Award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event. Despite her nonstop schedule, Moroney recently delighted her legion of fans by revealing to PEOPLE that “the next album is probably like 80% written.”
This summer, Moroney’s blockbuster sold-out AM I OKAY? TOUR continues. With dates scheduled through October 12 at the Texas Trust CU Theatre in Dallas, the 50-date headline run includes two-night stands at famed spots like Roadrunner in Boston (August 1 and 2) and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (October 2 and 3) as well as stops at iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado (September 30).
