TRACE ADKINS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF SONGS ABOUT ME WITH SPECIAL SIRIUSXM SESSION PERFORMANCE & INTERVIEW

MULTI-PLATINUM entertainer and TV/film actor Trace Adkins is celebrating the 20th birthday of his 2X PLATINUM sixth album— Songs About Me —in style. He just visited SiriusXM in Nashville where he appeared on Y2Kountry for a very special session and interview with host Danielle Peck. Cheered on by a crowd of lucky fans, he not only delivered knockout renditions of classics from Songs About Me like the signature “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” that he introduced as “the most played song in strip club history,” and emotional “Arlington,” but he also performed his latest single “What Color’s Your Wild.” 

Capping off this unforgettable appearance, SiriusXM and Pandora’s Johnny Chiang, Vice President of Music Programming – Country at SiriusXM and Pandora, surprised Adkins with a Billionaire plaque in recognition of over 1 BILLION streams (1.7 BILLION to be exact) for his music on Pandora. He enters elite company among only a handful of artists to reach this milestone, including greats such as Jason AldeanChris StapletonTaylor SwiftMariah CareyEd Sheeran, and more.

“The incredible thing about Trace and his career is the consistency. Whether he has new music or not, Pandora fans are screaming for Trace,” shared Chiang during the milestone presentation.

The event will  air on SiriusXM's Y2Kountry (Channel 57) starting today with replays throughout the weekend. It will also be on the SiriusXM app for two weeks.

Adkins originally unveiled Songs About Me on March 22, 2005. It bowed at #11 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top Country Albums Chart in addition to picking up a 2X PLATINUM certification from the RIAA. Of course, it houses the 3X PLATINUM anthem “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” GOLD-certified “Songs About Me,” and “Arlington.” Speaking to its enduring impact, the record has amassed hundreds of millions of streams.

Last week, he dropped the song “That Someday” (Verge Records) to accompany his role as “Big Buck” in the new action film, Day of Reckoning — in theaters now. Adkins personally penned the song with frequent collaborator and co-writer Casey Beathard (Eric Church, George Strait, Kenny Chesney), while Mickey Jack Cones (Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan) produced the track. Adkins continues to make headlines across culture this year. He notably delivered a stunning performance of “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing” on Opry 100: Live. In case you missed it, watch here. Produced by Lionsgate, it serves as the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster hit I Can Only Imagine. Adkins will reprise his role as "Scott Brickell." He wrapped up his run on Blake Shelton’s Friends & Heroes Tour in front of a packed crowd in State College, PA (3/22).
