COUNTRY THUNDER SHARES LATEST EPISODE OF "ON THE BUS WITH TROY VOLLHOFFER" FEATURING TIGIRLILY GOLD TODAY

Country Thunder — the largest Country music festival brand in North America — shares the latest episode of its fan-favorite podcast, “On the Bus with Troy Vollhoffer,” today. Continuing season two, the fourth episode features ACM Award-winning and history-making North Dakota-born duo Tigirlily Gold — sisters Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh. You can watch and listen to new episodes on all DSPs, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and Amazon Music.

On The Bus with Tigirlily Gold

Host Troy Vollhoffer sits down with Kendra and Krista for a captivating deep dive interview about their unassuming rise out of Hazen, ND and into the spotlight, discovery by powerhouse songwriter and producer Shane McAnally, debut album Blonde, upcoming music, and so much more. The girls open up about their appreciation for formative influences such as Sugarland, Little Big Town, Lady A, Shania Twain, and Faith Hill as well as Garth Brooks and Daughtry. They speak on their roots in the church and years of tireless gigging. Fully committed to music, Krista refers to Tigirlily Gold as “a lifestyle,” while Kendra elaborates, “I’m going to give my best to today, and we can. It’s really nice being a duo. We can keep each other in check as how we’re feeling.”

Amid discussing their career, goals, and how they got their start in the Country music scene, the sisters explain why their familial bond remains so important to the music. “We have very different strengths,” observes Kendra. “Krista’s just really witty and can spit off lyrics left and right.” Krista goes on, “Ken, obviously being the lead singer, is more melodically driven, because if she doesn’t like singing it or the melody, we’re just not going to cut it. So, she’s got to love the melody…I feel like a lot of our songs that we end up cutting are actually Kendra’s ideas. She’s very good conceptually and keeps me on track. I’m a little ADHD squirrel sometimes with how I’m spitting off lyrics,” she laughs.
