Must-know newcomer George Pippen is showing no signs of slowing down with the release of his new hook-heavy single “Speedin’” today (8/9) via Virgin Music Group. Following early summer releases with the sentimental “Indiana Knows My Name” and grooving “Silence in the Suburbs,” “Speedin’” is the perfect continuation: a sumptuous blend of Country charm and Rock perfection that’s a surefire sunshine jolt of open-air freedom at every turn. Listen to “Speedin’” here.
Written by Pippen alongside Christian French, Rob D'Andrea and Warren Russell, his bright burgeoning talents are all on full display with “Speedin’.” “People say that I was rebel born/No, I never claimed to be a saint/ Drive a jeep that’s a little torn/You can tell her age by the paint,” he sings at the outset of the infectious song, produced by Steve Rusch, Christian French and Rob D'Andrea.
“This is a song about living life on the road and embracing its freedom. If you need me, I'll be somewhere on the highway, speedin', nowhere fast, just living my way,” shares Pippen. “I used to be a tour manager and traveled most of the year with various artists. Life on the road definitely takes some adjusting, but it is also a unique freedom. Whenever someone would call me, I was quite literally speedin’ somewhere on the highway.”
Recently signed to UTA and managed by Brent Shows and Emily Clark at ALTAR MGMT, Pippen is undeniably one of the most exciting new talents with his distinct husky, tender rasp and unwavering County-Rock sensibility that has already amassed more than 395,000 views on TikTok. With his debut album expected later this year, all eyes are now on Pippen.
