ALANA SPRINGSTEEN’S HISTORY OF BREAKING UP (PART TWO)

Continuing a confessional-style story she began last year, fast-rising artist-songwriter Alana Springsteen has today (7/15) released the second installment of her heart-opening independent EP, HISTORY OF BREAKING UP (PART TWO). Available now on all streaming platforms and digital retailers.

“When I look back on where I was as I was writing the songs for HISTORY OF BREAKING UP (PART ONE) and then look at where I am now, it’s all a little surreal,” Springsteen admits. “This project started out as a way for me to find some peace and healing through the heartbreak, but it’s given me so much more: I’ve found a community of the most amazing fans who’ve helped me — and each other — to feel a little less alone. If PART ONE set the bar for me, I truly believe PART TWO raises it.”

A truly multi-dimensional talent, Springsteen co-wrote all but one track on the project and co-produced and played guitar on five, as the set boldly establishes her in the Country music space. Inspired by the kinetic energy of a heart in free fall, but saved by a parachute of self-reliant toughness, HISTORY OF BREAKING UP (PART TWO) finds the 21-year-old refusing to close off her broken heart to the world and doing it all with signature sound of her own making. Further documenting the many dimensions of heartache (grief, desperation, self-doubt, anger, newfound self-awareness), she captures each emotional state with both raw intensity and breathtaking nuance with no-holds-barred realness. In the end, Springsteen ultimately makes a glorious case for opening your heart to the possibility of love, no matter how great the risk.

Anchored by a gut-wrenching title track that Springsteen co-wrote with Whakaio Taahi (LANY, Katelyn Tarver) and Melissa Fuller (Mickey Guyton, LANCO), other songwriting heavyweights spotted on this collection include Sasha Alex Sloan, Chris LaCorte, Ryan Beaver, Jessie Jo Dillon, Geoff Warburton, and more, plus her first outside cut by Shane McAnally, Ashley Gorley, and Rhett Akins. Cameron Jaymes, LaCorte, and Pete Good are also tagged as her co-producers.

Taking over the Pool Club Rooftop Bar at Virgin Hotels Nashville Wednesday night (7/13), Springsteen hosted key industry tastemakers and power players for a sunset showcase of HISTORY OF BREAKING UP (PART TWO). Performing previously released heart-versus-head anthem “Me Myself and Why” and slow-burner “New Number” – which E! News warned, “Brace yourself for a true heartbreaker” – among others, she proved herself as a bona fide entertainer and “one of Nashville's most buzzworthy emerging artists” (E! News). Earlier that day, CMT also premiered the cinematic music video for “Trust Issues,” and applauded it a “fearless breakup banger.” Directed by David Bradley, watch here.

The much anticipated follow up to 2021’s widely praised HISTORY OF BREAKING UP (PART ONE), Springsteen quickly drew acclaim from major outlets like PEOPLE  (who hailed it as “a magical mixture of deep thoughts on love and heartbreak, all delivered by a voice that seems to represent the future of country music”) and CMT (who noted that “Springsteen’s passion — as well as her potential for increased stardom — are apparent”). Thanks in part to the breakout project’s success, she has independently reached nearly 55 MILLION career streams to date. Springsteen’s also scored major playlist adds including Spotify’s Fresh Finds, New Boots, and New Music Friday; Apple Music’s Country Risers, New Music Daily, and Soundcheck; Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Country; and Pandora’s AMP: Fresh Cuts, New Country, and Rising Women in Country.

Readying to take this new music on the road, Springsteen’s next set to play the Faster Horses Music Festival (7/22) in Brooklyn, MI, and the inaugural TidalWave Festival (8/13) in Atlantic City, NJ. She’s also slotting headliner shows with a stop at Barnato in Omaha, NE, on August 18.

ABOUT ALANA SPRINGSTEEN:
For 21-year-old emerging artist-songwriter Alana Springsteen, it’s always been about storytelling. Named “one of Nashville's most buzzworthy emerging artists” by E! News, she’s drawn praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, who stated that “She writes with beyond-her-years poise.” PEOPLE deemed PART ONE “a magical mixture of deep thoughts on love and heartbreak, all delivered by a voice that seems to represent the future of country music.” Partly on the strength of new songs from PART TWO like “Trust Issues,” “New Number,” and “Me Myself and Why,” Pandora's 2021 Country Artist to Watch has independently reached nearly 55 MILLION career streams and amassed over 3K playlist adds. Picking up the guitar at seven and writing her first song by age nine, the Virginia Beach native relocated to Nashville at 14 and landed a publishing deal almost immediately. On the fast-track to stardom, she’s set to blaze her own trail and has already been spotted on tours with Mitchell Tenpenny and LANY. Signed to Eighteen Company for management, represented by UTA, Springsteen is also Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s newest Celebrity Ambassador.
