Kicking off a bold new era in her music career, singer/songwriter/actress Hayley Orrantia premieres her punchline-packed and powerful new single “Open Your Mouth,” available now through all streaming platforms and digital retailers. As one of the most exciting multi-hyphenate talents in the pop culture world today, Orrantia is newly managed by Jonas Group Entertainment.

Written by Orrantia, Simon Reid and Kalie Shorr, “Open Your Mouth” begins in a stripped-back collision of dreamy textures and delicate guitar tones as Orrantia sweetly serenades a former flame. In an ingenious twist, the track suddenly changes gears just as the chorus hits: “I’m thinking this is going great / But then you open your mouth.”

Produced by Ben Zelico, “Open Your Mouth” takes on a glorious intensity, bursting into high-drama beats that brilliantly contrast Orrantia’s eye-rolling disappointment at the object of her fast-fading affection – the type of guy utterly lacking in self-awareness, prone to bragging about his constant gym going and serial model dating. The result is a high-wattage piece of Pop singer-songwriter perfection, showcasing the stunning vocal range Orrantia has brought to such heavily playlisted hits as “Find Yourself Somebody.”

"I'm so proud of this song and the shape it's taken over the last three years," Orrantia shares. "It's the perfect blend of musical styles that represent me and where I am as an artist today and the perfect jumping-off point for the next series of songs I plan to release soon. I hope this song can become a girl's bathroom anthem to remind each other not to text their ex!"

Striking a rare balance of humor and heart, “Open Your Mouth” arrives as Orrantia gears up for the season nine finale of ABC’s The Goldbergs airing on Wednesday (5/18). Recently renewed for a tenth season, the show stars Orrantia as “Erica Goldberg,” the titular Pennsylvania family’s eldest child whom fans have watched transform from a socially awkward high schooler to a college-aged beauty who drops out of school to form a band with her girlfriends.

Along with her widely celebrated role on The Goldbergs, Orrantia has established a successful music career, mining inspiration from all genres to create a soulful, Pop singer-songwriter sound centered on her expressive voice. Her music has been featured on major Spotify playlists and she launched her first headlining tour in 2018, visiting 22 cities across the country.

Born and raised in Texas, Hayley Orrantia discovered her love of performing at age nine, often hosting impromptu concerts in her bedroom. She soon added songwriting and playing piano to her impressive list of talents, and at age 14 she launched her professional acting career. Within several years she landed her acclaimed role as “Erica Goldberg” on ABC’s hit sitcom The Goldbergs, which was recently renewed for its tenth season. Her latest acting credits include co-starring with Dermot Mulroney in Amazon/Lionsgate’s 2021 holiday comedy Christmas is Canceled, and she’s simultaneously built a thriving career as a Pop singer-songwriter, delivering hits like “Find Yourself Somebody” and “Made for This.” Although working in film, television, and music keeps Orrantia busy, she also buys, flips, and renovates homes alongside her father in Nashville, TN, positioning herself to become a pioneer in the interior design and home renovation market. Currently splitting her time between Nashville, where she writes and records most of her music, and Los Angeles, where she films The Goldbergs, Orrantia proudly calls both cities home.
