BRELAND THROWS IT BACK TO THE 90S TAKING PART IN THE LAUNCH OF NEW SPOTIFY SINGLES CAMPAIGN

As announced today, Bad Realm Records / Atlantic Records breakout talent BRELAND will be part of the new Spotify Singles campaign featuring tried-and-true 90s Country alongside fellow emerging Country artists and 90s babies themselves Parker McCollum and Tenille Arts.

"One of my favorite things about Country music is how beautifully the stories are told,” explains BRELAND. “I can still remember my first love, and even though ‘Strawberry Wine’ is from a young woman’s perspective, the heart of the story is so universal. I wanted to be able to help give new life to such a timeless song."

According to Rolling Stone,“…the Country whiz kid who broke out with the viral ‘My Truck’ regards Carter’s song as a touchstone of his introduction to Country music.” Read the full story on BRELAND’s recent interview HERE.

Spotify’s newest campaign is to celebrate one of the most iconic decades of Country music: The 90s. 90s Country music produced power anthems like Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like A Woman,” seven hit-filled albums from the legendary Reba, and made stars out of the young duo Brooks & Dunn.  As listeners return to these classic songs, albums, and moments in droves, Spotify has decided to honor them with a microsite, Spotify Singles, video content, and more.

BRELAND sat down with Spotify to talk about his Single selection and the impact of 90s Country on his own music.

Driving more than FIVE BILLION streams since the program began in 2016, Spotify Singles was created to give artists an opportunity to record new versions of their own songs, the songs of the artists they love, or an original song. To date, there have been over 600 recordings from more than 300 artists across all genres. The complete list of Spotify Singles can be found HERE

ABOUT BRELAND:
With the arrival of his PLATINUM-certified debut single “My Truck,” singer/songwriter/producer BRELAND emerged as a bold new force on today’s music landscape. Originally from New Jersey, BRELAND moved to Atlanta after graduating from Georgetown University, kicking off his songwriting career by scoring cuts with artists like YK Osiris and Ann Marie. Soon after releasing “My Truck” in late 2019, he saw the Hip-Hop and Country hybrid hit #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50, with a remix featuring Country hitmaker Sam Hunt landing on best-of-the-year lists from NPR and The New York Times. The song’s success paved the way for his signing to Bad Realm Records/Atlantic Records, leading to collaborations with heavy-hitters from the Country, Pop, and Hip-Hop worlds (including Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts, Nelly, Blanco Brown, Lauren Alaina, and Chase Rice). BRELAND’s 2021 single “Cross Country” further reveals his passion for transcending boundaries, continuing his mission of breaking down genre barriers in Country music. The Nashville-based artist made his national TV debut with “Cross Country” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she surprised him with a PLATINUM plaque for “My Truck.” Now at work on the follow-up to his 2020 self-titled debut EP, he enlisted superstar Keith Urban for the dynamic collaboration “Throw It Back.” Adding to his list of buzzy collaborations, he is currently featured on Dierks Bentley’s single with HARDY, “Beers On Me.” BRELAND has been praised by Rolling Stone as “1,000 percent the whole package,” featured on Billboard’s “Emerging Artists Spotlight,” and earned acclaim from Genius, Paper, USA TODAY, and more.
