SMITHFIELD STRIPS DOWN THEIR VIRAL TRACK WITH “SOMETHING SEXY (STRIPPED)”

On-fire Country duo SmithField spices things up with the release of their song “Something Sexy (Stripped)” available everywhere today. With the original version going viral on TikTok earlier this summer, SmithField decided to continue to pay homage to the romantic Country jams that “set the mood just right” by releasing a stripped-down version of the popular track. The smoldering smash namechecks some of the genre’s steamiest hits by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and more.

Showcasing their proficient songwriting, “Something Sexy” is penned by the duo’s Jennifer Fielder and Trey Smith alongside Adam Wood, and produced by Derek Wells and Wood. The original track was released earlier this summer and the video premiered across CMT’s platforms and was voted a CMT Heatseeker by fans. Shortly after the release, the duo debuted their third EP, NEW TOWN, which tells the story of fresh perspective, which for SmithField is their career. Starting off with the title track, the talented pair puts on full display what the modern female-male Country duo sounds like. While a new female-male duo hasn’t broken out in the genre in well over a decade, SmithField has the talent and drive to make it happen.

With the duo in their 10th year in a 10-year town, they continuously set themselves apart. They have racked up FOUR MILLION streams since the mid-June release of their EP, amassing nearly 45 MILLION career streams to date. Upon release, the album shot straight up to #1 on iTunes Country Albums chart and #12 all-genre.

Up next, SmithField will be taking the stage in their hometown of Waxahachie, TX, where the town built a stage to accommodate the duo’s stardom. The duo will be the first to perform on this stage for the friends and family that have supported them throughout their entire journey.

ABOUT SMITHFIELD:
With a collaborative sound that emerged in their small hometown of Waxahachie, TX, SmithField – Trey Smith and Jennifer Fielder – are a modern Country duo rooted in stunning harmonies and sharp songwriting. After pursuing separate musical careers at a young age, Smith and Fielder paired up to form SmithField in 2011, combining their individual influences into a unique mix of the contemporary and the classic, inspired by one of the genre’s staple traditions: the male-female duet. Crediting a tight bond stemmed in their longtime friendship, the independent duo scored major-label-sized success with songs like “Hey Whiskey” and “If It Ain't You,” adding to their nearly 45 MILLION career streams to date and racking up heavy airplay on satellite radio. Seasoned performers, they have made more than 30 appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, performed at high-profile festivals including Stagecoach, and previously opened shows for some of Country’s hottest acts including Brothers Osborne, Scotty McCreery and Old Dominion, plus headlined their WE MAKE OUR OWN nationwide tour. Poised to break big in 2021, SmithField’s anticipated EP NEW TOWN released this summer debut at #1 on iTunes Country Chart and landed #12 on iTunes all genre chart upon release.
