Premiering exclusively with CMT today (7/23), emerging artist-songwriter Alana Springsteen is floating all her worries away in the free-and-easy music video for kiss-off Country bop, “Zero Trucks.” Airing throughout the day on CMT Music – CMT’s 24/7 music video channel, watch now on CMT.com.
Credited as co-writer, co-producer, and acoustic guitarist, Springsteen wrote the upbeat mood-booster with Walker Hayes and Joe Clemmons, plus tacked production alongside Jerry Flowers and Jared Keim. “Giving ‘zero trucks’ about what’s next for her in love and life, it’s a refreshing and carefree song perfectly aimed at overcoming the bummer of summer romance gone wrong,” raves CMT.
Singing “my good time’s overdue,” Springsteen gets over the breakup with a rowdy day on the water alongside friends in the fun-in-the-sun clip. Directed by David Bradley and filmed on-location on J. Percy Priest Lake and at Shipwreck Cove at Elm Hill Marina in Nashville, TN, Springsteen shared with CMT, “There’s nothing more calming to me than being near the water. In coming up with the concept for this video, I started thinking about where I would want to be and who I’d want to be with if I was going through a hard time, and that’s exactly what you see in the video.”
Critics are all about the good vibes only anthem with E! News’ The MixtapE! hailing, “If Carrie Underwood's ‘Before He Cheats’ was your jam in 2005, meet your next obsession—with a more mature message about moving on.” Likewise featured in Entertainment Tonight’s New Music Releases list, Country Now further dubbed it, “Destined to be the breakup song of Summer 2021.”
Fans can hear “Zero Trucks” and more as Springsteen performs next Friday (7/30) on the Next From Nashville stage at Watershed Music and Camping Festival in George, WA. Find additional event details here.
