GROUNDBREAKING ARTIST LILY ROSE RELEASES POIGNANT NEW SONG, "OVERNIGHT SENSATION" AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE TODAY

Rising Country artist Lily Rose releases a moving new song, “Overnight Sensation,” in conjunction with a heartwarming music video, available everywhere today.  “Overnight Sensation” was written in 2019 with Rose’s close friends Matt Morrisey, Morgan Brock and Lauren Hungate as they dreamed up what it would be like to see sudden success. As “the promising new talent” (Billboard) continues to set records and break boundaries with her debut single “Villain,” the singer/songwriter is emotional over the song’s meaning today.

“I honestly don’t know if there’s a more personal song in my arsenal than ‘Overnight Sensation.’ Who knew that when we wrote the song in 2019 it would be the ultimate foreshadowing of me signing a record deal because of a viral moment,” reflects Rose. “I’m lucky to have written it with some of my closest friends. Getting to share this moment with them is extremely special to me. I needed this song through all of the hard times in my career, and I hope it helps other people keep the foot on the gas.”

“Overnight Sensation” illustrates the journey of an artist who rises to success seemingly quickly but as you reach the hook, it reminds the listener there is always more to the story: “I’m an overnight sensation… thirteen years in the making.” The powerful song details the many years of hard work and perseverance it took for Rose to carve her own path to success. In the accompanying video, home video footage is interspersed throughout, showing Rose learning to play the drums and perform for her family at an early age, with her supportive family always cheering her on.

Now, those family members are not only getting to watch Rose perform for intimate crowds, but they can hear her single “Villain” at Country Radio and available everywhere now. Since its release, “Villain” has amassed 25M on-demand streams and has spent 16 weeks on the Shazam Top Country Songs chart. In a recently released video, “This Is Lily Rose,” Rose opened up to fans about her explosive journey onto the Country scene.

ABOUT LILY ROSE:
Touting an identifiable sound described as contemporary, vulnerable and raw, Lily Rose is breaking new ground in the Nashville music scene with her new single, “Villain." On Dec. 1, 2020, Rose posted a clip of “Villain,” a song she wrote with Mackenzie Carpenter and Kyle Clark (produced by Matt Morrisey) about a break-up she believed ended cordially, only to find out she’d been painted as the ‘bad guy’ through social media. The song connected significantly with fans, and two weeks later Rose independently released “Villain” on Dec. 15. The single immediately rocketed to the top of the iTunes all-genre chart, where it held steady at No.1 above Taylor Swift’s latest releases for several days and has remained in the iTunes Top 30 for five consecutive weeks. Rose’s reactive single “Villain” caught the attention of Big Loud Records / Back Blocks Music and Republic Records who signed her to a joint-venture record deal in Jan. 2021.

Rose grew up in Atlanta as a self-taught drummer and guitarist, but it wasn’t until high school that she discovered her voice. As an athlete and distinguished singer, Rose had to decide which avenue to pursue. Bar sets and cover shows in her college town of Athens, GA led to headlining and sold out shows across Athens, Atlanta, Nashville and NYC, prompting her to make the move to Nashville in 2017.

Her musical influences range from Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Bruce Springsteen to Katy Perry reflecting her innate ability to adopt a “futuristic” 21st century country sound. She currently resides in Nashville where she continues to write and record new music with a focus on melody and hook driven songwriting style, which has proven to resonate among country, pop and rock alike.
