Cranking out the hits, Broken Bow Records star
Dustin Lynch is turning heads with his brand-new “
Thinking ‘Bout You” collaboration with
MacKenzie Porter, while climbing Top 10 at Country radio with current single “
Momma’s House.”
Revealing never-before-seen footage of the
official music video directed by Justin Nolan Key,
PEOPLE exclusively premiered a behind-the-scenes clip earlier today (3/25). Offering an intimate fly-on-the-wall perspective from the “Thinking ‘Bout You” shoot, ride shotgun in a ’68 Pontiac Catalina with Porter, and walk into Lynch’s bedroom on set, as the duet partners talk about the taped nostalgic flashbacks while onscreen exes reconnect over the phone. The Lynch, Andy Albert, Hunter Phelps, and Will Weatherly-penned lyrics ring straight to the heart of a broken connection, as heart-pounding hooks and memory-soaked vocals stir up a long-gone romance.
“We had a blast working together in the studio,” Lynch shared with
PEOPLE. “She has a voice that I don't think we've heard in country music yet, and that's nothing you can learn or teach yourself, it's just what you're born with. She has a tone that's really accessible and vulnerable, and it just fit.”
“In front of the camera, MacKenzie is a pro,” he added with
PEOPLE. “I was sitting there watching the monitor going, ‘Oh man, I got my work cut out for me.’ But we had a blast, and she's a great sport. I think my favorite part about that day was just getting to spend time with MacKenzie and watch her do her thing and shine.”
