GABBY BARRETT CELEBRATES “THE GOOD ONES,” SETS RECORDS WITH “I HOPE”

“Formidable vocal power” (The TennesseanGabby Barrett has forged her own unique path in modern Country music, breaking long-held records and pushing boundaries with “eclectic influences that have helped attract fans to her music, even in an era when female artists have had a hard time gaining recognition” (WWD).

Putting those influences on full display with her debut album GOLDMINE, Barrett’s singles continue to prove their staying power. Sophomore effort “The Good Ones” is gaining traction at Country radio while notching over 60 MILLION global streams. MusicRow calls the single a “sweet, elegant piece” with a “lilting melody…made all the more touching by the accompanying music video.” Watch it here.

Barrett’s 2X PLATINUM #1 debut single “I Hope” is soaring to new heights on the charts as well, breaking through the Billboard Hot 100 chart’s Top 10 this week. In a record-making development, the new achievement makes Barrett the first female artist to chart this high with a song unaccompanied by any other artists that also charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart since 2012 (Taylor Swift, with "Red"), the first woman to claim both the #1 spot on Hot Country Songs and a Hot 100 Top 10 with a debut solo single in 45 years, and the first artist overall to achieve both the #1 at Country Airplay and the Hot 100 Top 10 crown with a debut since Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise.” After reigning atop Hot Country Songs for five consecutive weeks, the “surprising blockbuster in the Country field” (Forbes) is still 2020’s #1 streamed Country song.

Adding to her cross-genre buzz, Barrett was selected as part of Variety’s industry-wide Power of Young Hollywood List 2020, with the outlet calling her “the once-in-a-half-generation Country artist for whom the phrase ‘next Carrie Underwood’ can be reasonably invoked in any context” – read the full list here, and watch her perform “The Good Ones” in celebration of the achievement here.
