Photo Finish Records rising duo LAKEVIEW bring their new song to life with a tribute to Music City in the video for “She Drove Me To the Bar” – premiering exclusively on The Tennessean yesterday (7/14).

Wanting to give back to the local community that has embraced them since they made their move from Pittsburgh to Nashville, Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy (of LAKEVIEW) decided this video would be the perfect opportunity to do just that. From the aftermath of a deadly tornado in March to coping with the ongoing pandemic, this year has been a challenging one for Music City – and for the service industry in particular.

Directed by Tyler Conrad, the clip aims to bring awareness to these struggles by featuring interviews with two Nashville bar owners – Andrew Cook of East Nashville’s The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club and Kyle McPhee of Tin Roof 2 – as they talk about the realities of the past few months for them and their staff, while highlighting stories of hope and resilience along the way.
“We’ve seen firsthand the massive impact the tornado and the pandemic have had on Nashville, and we wanted to do something to help,” Denaro explains to The Tennessean. “Luke and I, along with our amazing team came up with the idea. We thought this would be a perfect time – and a perfect song – to use to highlight how important local Nashville bars are to this community.”

“Nashville opened their arms to us,” Healy continues. “We want to do whatever we can with the small platform we have created to shed some light on how integral these establishments are to Nashville and their surrounding communities.”
Written by Denaro and Healy with Dave Thomson and co-produced by the duo with Jonathan Roach, the track gives listeners a backseat view of a breakup, as it follows one man’s attempt at putting his heartbreak in the rearview by heading to a local dive. Serving as the latest peek into LAKEVIEW’s signature sound, “She Drove Me to the Bar” follows their reflective releases – “Rain Down” and “Eyes Closed” – as well as their debut anthem, “Poor Me,” which the pair reinvented in an acoustic setting and premiered exclusively on CMT.com.

With each new release, LAKEVIEW continue to garner praise from fans and critics alike, with The Boot listing “Poor Me” among their “New Songs You’ve Got to Hear” and Country Now hailing the duo “undeniably has all of the makings of becoming the next big act in country music.”

Fans can expect more new music from LAKEVIEW in the coming months, as they charge forward in their exciting introduction to the genre.

LAKEVIEW is an emerging Country duo built on the musical brotherhood of Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy. Signed to Photo Finish Records and making a splash with their catchy tracks, “Poor Me,” “Eyes Closed,” “Rain Down,” and now “She Drove Me to the Bar,” the duo combine proud Country soul, a little Rock & Roll scope, and subtle Pop ambition to create one singular style, which translates to a cutting-edge Country sound with resonating, story-based lyrics. Natives of New York and Pennsylvania, LAKEVIEW formed from a songwriting partnership in Pittsburgh and brought their fresh sound to Nashville in 2019, where they’ve quickly established themselves on the scene.
